the REAL inauguration.

i'm here, faithful blogworld! for real this time.

wordpress was too hard, so i came to blogger instead. i had a blog way back before xanga existed (and before it became a dinosaur), and the layout seems simpler than wordpress. and i got some complaints about "notjustanyehnie" being too hard to read. so i thought, "ah ha! simplicity is key." so ehnie it is. for my non-korean friends, ehnie is my korean name and it's basically pronounced as "any." hence, play on words: not just any...any.

so why start blogging again? no more anniesmiles - that's so college! and though i miss college and the wonderfulness of it all, it's been two years since i graduated (what...?). i think i'm ready to embrace this new life stage that is known as post-college and start writing about it. it's taken me two years to even begin to comprehend what "post-college" really means...and i still don't know what God has in store for me. but what i do know is that i am not just any random person with a random purpose. He's specifically chosen me to live out a life unique to me and unique for Him--i'm not just any ehnie. as i quickly approach my almost mid-20's, i'm becoming more comfortable with who i am and eager/impatient to see who He wants me to be. but at the same time, i'm shocked to discover new things about my character and how...i didn't see these traits before. for instance, it is an ever-constant battle i have with trust--i never thought that i'd be one to have trust "issues." anyway, maybe this post-college experience is revealing to me more and more of myself. and i'm starting to accept the fact that i have to either change these qualities or embrace them for who i am and will be.

another crucial part of growing up is knowing who to surround yourself with. i've noticed that there are few people that i hold near and dear to my heart and whom i can truly call friends. so many acquaintances and companions and just a handful of amazing friends. as i grow more and more (un)comfortable in my own skin, i know that there are only a select few that still, to this day, accept me for who i am and love me for me--not for who i was or who i will be, but simply for me. my sister told me that a big part of your 20's is about solidifying your friendships - you don't have the energy to take the bullcrap from other people and waste precious time. so thank you, friends, for loving me. but it also doesn't mean that i'm limiting myself to new friendships. i mean, it shouldn't surprise those around me that hear it from me all the time, but to those reading my blog (if we aren't already so): "be my friend!"

so i guess this blog is about chronicling the growing up process...about accepting the fact that life is tough and it sucks (like my past two weeks of crap but i'll save that for another day) but also accepting and TRUSTing that i'm taken care of. that i'm not doing this on my own. that it's okay to not be okay. and that it's okay to love and be loved.

stay tuned, dear friends. i'm excited to be back!
