but it is 6:24am and i am almost wide awake. for the past 2 months, i've been waking up naturally and consistently--weekends included!--at 5:30-6:30am. WHY. WHY. WHY...does my body hate me? i think it's because i'm a working woman now. i'm just thankful for an earlier schedule at my new position. 8-5 is so much better than 930-630. 

it also doesn't help that the oh so cute bird that chirps on my street (which we've nicknamed Car Alarm...because he sounds like a car alarm) DOES NOT SHUT UP. EVER.

this is my daily morning routine:

- wake up at 530-630am to the sounds of Car Alarm

- check Gmail - write some emails

- browse Facebook and spam all your walls/photos (my best writing is done at 6:30am. kyi can attest to this.)

- sometimes go on a walk with the parentals. which i love. and if i go on that walk, grab Peet's coffee.

- get ready and leave for work around 730.

what's missing? 

that's right: prayer and the Word.

i completely stopped reading the Word about 2.5 months ago when all that craziness happened at the end of april. i stopped consistently praying when i got bitter with God. and now that all of that has passed, it is really hard to get back on track. so i think i'll use this blog for something good this time instead of wasting internet space: please pray for me? my goal was to finish reading the Bible in 2009. that yearlong goal has stretched to 1.5 years (which actually isn't so bad), but i have not picked up the Bible to read and meditate on in, what seems like, an eternity. i'm past the bitterness, and i just think now i'm going through a dry season. but to not pray for my family and friends and social justice issues and the new downtown service at my church--at least consistently--does not sit right with me. maybe i'm busy? maybe i'm tired from waking up so early each and every day? but i need prayer and i'm asking for it. thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear friends. i truly need it.

it is now 6:35am and i have to get ready for work. another day, another dollar. let's hope it's a good one!
