classical music & emails.

i should be packing. that or working out. or trying to get screen grabs of me in the audience on last week's episode of so you think you can dance! (i've only found one so far.)

no no, i really should be packing.

instead, i'm listening to classical music and writing emails to friends. the classical music is to calm my nerves. the emails are to calm their nerves.

i'm feeling quite overwhelmed by the amount of crap i have to pack up and move 4.5 miles away from my parents' home. have i touched my stuff? not really. my feeble attempt at even starting the process was purge #1 of clothing last week. i sold 7 pieces to crossroads trading co. last week and gained 2 back...but looking back, my trade was not exactly equal in value. hahahah several anthropologie pieces for 1 forever21 piece. bah. i am trying to convince myself that fashion does not have a price point.

it dawned on me this week that this will probably be the last week i ever live with my parents. i know that i'm being silly because i will literally only be 10 minutes away, but it kind of saddened me. it was mama choi's birthday yesterday. (on a side note, she said she turned the year younger than she was actually turning and will continue to decrease her age each subsequent year. it's okay, i told her. she looks like she's 36 anyway.) i took her out to dumplings and took her shopping. i think she really loved our date together :)

i know that packing shouldn't stress me out this much but i think my wonky work schedule is adding to my mental anxiety. i know i can always come back to my parents' place to pick up more stuff. but i just want to do it all in one swift trip. and it doesn't help that i'm working friday night til 3am, moving on saturday morning to afternoon, and working that night 6pm-3am. what? AND i'm missing out on a dear girlfriend's bridal shower/bachelorette bash and another friend's epic birthday party.

it's okay, i tell myself. all these changes will be worth it. should i go take a nap now?

  2. Aw don't get too sad... it's just like college all over again! You'll be far enough to get independence but never too far to swing by and get free food :) Missing out on those things does kinda suck but it's definitely worth it, friend!!
