things that you didn't know about me: part i.

i wanted to name today's blog post: "things that you didn't know about me but now you will creepily know about me because i am posting them on the internets."

...but i felt that it was a tad lengthy.

i always wanted to do the "25 things about me" facebook note that was all the rage in 2008, but i was too lazy and i didn't want people to stalk me. so since this blog is semi-secret, i'm going to do a drawn out version of 5 per month for the next 5 months at the end of each month. because i can. and i will!

here we go. #1-5:

1. i can only fall asleep with an arm under my pillow under my head. sometimes when i'm stressed, i'll clench my fists before i go to sleep, and then i remind myself that i shouldn't go to sleep with my fists in a ball. once i release the clenched fists and flatten out my hands, i immediately fall asleep. weird huh?

2. i am a huge fan of non-fiction, especially autobiographies. currently i am reading sarah turnbull's almost french: love and a new life in paris and stefan fatsis's word freak: heartbreak, triumph, genius, and obsession in the world of competitive scrabble players. true stories. 

3. i have really annoying little habits that i wish i could stop but i just can't. maybe you can help me stop! when i was younger, i used to bite my fingernails. the way that my mother got me to stop was when she told me that boys in junior high wouldn't like girls with ugly fingers. and so i stopped. but now i constantly pick at hangnails and crack my neck--which both cause me pain. maybe boys in post-college don't like girls that do these habits either...

4. i pick up languages pretty well - currently i am "conversational" in english, korean, french, and spanish. i want to master french one day and edit french movies.

5. i like miniature things. my roommate in college used to comment on my tiny possessions: a mini stapler, a mini hole puncher, a mini car (my honda civic!), mini everything. i can't help it. they're just too cute.
