when you've got the urge, you just have to.
today i took a half day. not that it was really my choice because i'm technically working 6 days this week (i have to finish the other half day this saturday to do some work training), but it was actually quite nice to have the afternoon free. if it wasn't so bloody hot, i would've been in a better mood. i was so irritable with mama choi and sister choi, and they don't deserve that. i need to be nicer to my family.
what did i do on my afternoon off?
- went sneaker shopping. i can't find my sneakers or my ipod :\
- bought stuff for mama
- worked out in my heatbomb of a living room (jillian michaels is killer. every time i lean on my elbows, i feel like there's an earthquake. oh wait, no, those are my flailing muscles shaking under the weight of my head.)
- vchatted with a dear friend (we must stop being so stressed!)
- FINALLY opened up my Bible
- and FINALLY freaking figured out my finances.
so on a thursday night when a mid-twenties gal "should" be out partying, i am at home creating a google spreadsheet to keep track on my bills and groceries and the like. i feel like a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. now only if i would continue this throughout the year..
i finished the book of 2 Corinthians tonight and the final verses were meant for my life, right here, right now:
"Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you."
having a half day provided me a precious chance for productivity, self care, and peace for the soul.
...and i can only be grateful.
on an entirely random note: i am in love with the cinematic orchestra's "to build a home" - that is all.
